"Tears aren't a girl's weapon. It's her smile." ~ Gackt Fur Stole:Vintage, Leather Jacket: WGACA, Camo Skirt: Army Surplus, Fanny Pack: Gucci, Shoes: Lamoda
With all the bullshit that's currently taking place the quote above is so fitting. Like seriously, how did we (America) get to this point?!?! Let me switch gears or else I see myself going on a tangent and I think (per the LOML) I've used up my alloted "fuck" words for the month...check out my Instagram if you missed that gem..LOL. Moving on let's discuss what I'm wearing here in the pics. Well let me start by saying I've been doing some serious recycling when it comes to the wardrobe because ya girl is on a serious budget, yep that's right AND I'm sticking to it. I've gotten quite a few inquiries on the skirt which I found years ago at an Army surplus store in Milwaukee. There are certain items that I definitely hold on to no matter how old because fashion always regurgitates and that definitely applies to camo. The fur stole is vintage passed down from my baby Aunt Babe (miss her to death) and the shoes are from Lamoda but I scored for like 50% off. Since moving from the Midwest to Cali I have definitely cut down on splurging on clothing etc. but as long as you hang on to a few staples fashion goes on.
"Time is not measured by the passing of the years but by what one does, what one feels, and what one achieves."
~ Jawaharlal Nehru
As I sit here and throw this post together and I come across a few pics from Carnaval 2015 I'm thinking the quote above couldn't be further from the truth. It's hard to believe another year is passing us on by but, with all the madness going on in the world today I am oh so grateful to still be here to post about it. Years are going to pass....it's inevitable but you have to make the best of it. Let's do, feel and achieve.

If you've checked out SWOON in the past you may have noticed the layout change that has taken place. As time move forward you realize certain aspects of your life are due for a change. SWOON was definitely one of the aspects, me and my life in general being another. SWOON will remain a platform to share personal style but I have no desire to continue being classified into an oversimplified category. I'm at a place where I want to dedicate more time and put more thought into the content I share on my blog and get back to the "lifestyle" aspect of it (as I once did in the past). As for me, as I get older I have to take inventory of my life, values, morals and my goals. I'm not going to lie the past few years have been a bit of a roller coaster and for the most part I decided to just live life and ride it on out oppose to documenting it, which isn't entirely a bad thing (because people aint gotta know all your damn business...lol) but being candid and sharing certain experiences was the main reason for creating SWOON and I have to admit I enjoyed it much more when I utilized my blog as a place to release and get things off my chest. All that being said I have come to the conclusion that it's ok to turn your back and walk away from something or someone that threatens your progress.
